One of the unique recipes that I know, that uses a not so ordinary ingredient: Lengua with liver sauce. That is beef tongue with liver sauce
The reason that I love cooking lengua with liver sauce is that it is not your typical adobo or sinigang recipe. This is take a unique ingredient and it is easy cook for the weekend. You can use a pressure cooker or a slow cooker to make it tender the tongue. After that is a quick saute of the ingredient together and that’s it.
There are different variations of this dish using the same basic lengua. It can be done with a tomato based sauce, a mushroom based sauce. The one that we have lengua with liver sauce. I’ll share the recipe for the other two at a later time. Lengua is something that can be so tender and have a nice texture when you bite into it. It can also give some people hesitation when you serve it. I would recommend anyone to try lengua and it might be our next meat that you’ll love.
It doesn’t taste like chicken but it can be good. Let’s give it a try, maybe the next time you see it on the taco menu, you won’t be so scared to try it on different food.
